Jamshíd Afnán is the Vice President of Information and Cyber Security Services at ISO New England Inc. Jamshid Afnan is responsible for all ISO New England’s information technology (IT) and Cyber Security functions. He directs the information and data integrity of the organization as well as all information systems (IS) functions, including data centers, technical service centers, physical and cyber security, production scheduling, enterprise systems, communications service and software development. Jamshíd has managed the information technology functions of ISO New England Inc., since its inception in July 1997, as the first ISO in the United States. The secure Infrastructure as a Service is what is needed for proper safety of all the data and documents.
He has represented ISO New England in a number of forums such as the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) Governing Board, Information Technology Committee (ITC) of ISO/RTO Council (IRC) and Western New England University College of Engineering Industrial Advisory Board.
Previously he was employed by New England Power Pool as a Senior Computer Scientist and Manager of Computer Support Services. Jamshid has thirty-six years of experience in Electric Power Industry.
Jamshíd graduated from State University of New York in Albany with degrees in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.
